022: Friday Jams – Imagine Dragons

Good Friday to you and yours, as if all the days this week haven’t lost their meaning. Today’s offering is presented to you with a request to actually watch this video. Most music videos these days are just a ennui inducing montage of band members, but this one somehow successfully combines stuffed animals and cage fighting.

021: Merry Christmas

I want to wish a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all of you.

And if for some reason you’re still not in the Spirit, let me recommend allowing Big Boi read you How The Grinch Stole Christmas.

020: Friday Jams – Christmas Edition

019: Christmas Cheer

It’s here, the long hard final push to the holidays. One more weekend of last minute holiday parties followed immediately by Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. For me this mean a gluttony of spending time with family and friends, wantonly eating everything that comes in front of you, and consuming booze in copious and varied quantities. So How Many Beards is here to give you a few tips on how successfully navigate the coming gauntlet that doesn’t end until you’re nursing black coffee, nibbling a toast and honey, and watching Mean Girls while moaning on the couch on January 1st.

018: Guns, Mental Illness, and Mass Violence In America

I come to you today to present a reasonable, current, and unbiased examination of American culture as it relates to guns, violence, and mental health in response to the building social fallout from the violence in Newtown, CT, Aurora, CO, Brookfield, WI, etc. I am seeing too much of the ignorant single-minded partisanship that is tearing this country apart. People are digging into their ideas using misinformation, ignorant inflammatory rhetoric, and outdated concepts. I really only hope to use this space to prompt reasonable, constructive conversation about how this country can effectively move forward from these tragedies with purpose.

016: Moat Water

Moat Water for SPoT x CCB: 5/5

After celebrating my birthday last weekend with a long beer filled Saturday I decided to dial back and just dip into a few quality brews this weekend. While perusing the shelf at one of my local sources I stumbled across something I had only heard briefly mentioned on Twitter a few times. A wonderful collaboration between two Tampa Bay Area institutions: Skate Park Of Tampa (SPoT) and Cigar City Brewing (CCB). The two collaborated to make a one time limited edition release in celebration of SPoT’s 20 year anniversary.

015: Friday Jams – Daft Punk

Happy Friday.

Little known fact, the first time I heard Daft Punk I was probably 12 or so and Cartoon Network played Insterstella 5555: The 5tory of the 5ecret 5tar 5ystem. Part of which is what became the music video for One More Time.

Anyways, here’s your dance party in a box.

014: The Womp.

Let’s face it. Ever since Inception came out, The Womp is everywhere in movies, especially in trailers. It’s kind of like back in 2010 when everything was blue and orange. In fact I brought evidence in case you doubted me.

013: Lawless

Lawless: 3/5

What is Lawless? Well it’s a movie. But what is it? Is it True Life? Gangster? Time Piece? Action? Romance? Can a movie be all of these things? Yes, it can, but, can it be all of these things and not only survive but thrive? Well, yes. And that is what Lawless is, a tale of survival, survival of the fittest by those who are willing to do what needs to be done.
